We are excited to announce the release of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Study 2024, a comprehensive report by BOC Group that explores the current state and the future of Enterprise Architecture. Developed in collaboration with the School of Management and Law at ZHAW and based on contributions from over 150 participants across diverse industries, the study offers valuable insights for decision-makers, IT architects, and key stakeholders into the evolution of EA practices, tools, and their practical applications.
As Dr. Christoph Moser, ADOIT Product Manager at BOC Group, explains:
“The rapid pace of technological innovation and economic shifts are pushing companies to adapt faster than ever before. Enterprise Architecture is crucial in meeting these challenges, especially when democratized across the organization to ensure stakeholder alignment and future-proof design. We hope this study supports companies on their EA journey and contributes to more resilient and agile business structures.”
The EA Study 2024 highlights how organizations are navigating the complexities of Enterprise Architecture in today’s business landscape. With 38% of companies still at moderate maturity levels, the study reveals significant growth potential for EA practices. Interestingly, 84% of respondents expect EA to play a crucial role in the future, reflecting a growing recognition of its strategic importance. Beyond maturity and future outlook, the study also touches on key areas like the use of frameworks, EA tools, and the evolving role of architecture in supporting business transformation, offering a comprehensive view of the current EA landscape.
We extend our thanks to the ZHAW School of Management and Law and to all the participants who contributed to this study.
